Timhotel Montmartre occupies a small spot in the 18th arrondissement, just a few minutes’ walk from the Sacré-Cœur and Place du Tertre. People often arrive there a little out of breath after climbing the steep streets of Montmartre, suitcase in hand. It’s the price to pay for sleeping here. The steps and cobblestones are part of the setting, just like the artists who set up their easels a little farther on.

On the ground floor, reception is open day and night. You can leave your luggage there before check-in time, pick up a map of the neighborhood, and sometimes even a restaurant address scribbled down by the person at the front desk, who knows the area inside out.

You come back to sleep in an air-conditioned room with free Wi-Fi, a safe, a hairdryer—the classic amenities, always reliable.

One last useful detail: the Montmartre funicular, just below, avoids the final climb on foot with luggage. A standard metro ticket is enough to use it.
