Apostrophe Hotel is located between Montparnasse and the Luxembourg Gardens, a stone’s throw from Saint-Germain-des-Prés, in the 6th arrondissement. The entrance is easy to spot, wedged between a café and a bookstore storefront, like a wink to the hotel’s theme: here, each of the sixteen rooms bears the name of a literary world, from printing to calligraphy and old newspapers.

Pushing open the door, the lobby does not try to impress. Guests are welcomed at any hour, day or night, by staff who speak several languages and know the neighborhood inside out, making it easy to get a wine bar address or a dinner reservation without having to check your phone.

Upstairs, the literary theme takes shape differently depending on the room. In “Alphabet Amoureux,” a painted ladder climbs all the way to the ceiling. In “Newspapers,” a kiosk-style glass roof captures the light. The rooms remain small, between 12 and 15 m² depending on category. This is far from the space offered by some hotels of comparable standing, but the team has clearly thought through every centimeter: built-in closet, compact desk, power outlet within reach from the bed.

The real talking point remains the bathroom. In the so-called “Balnéo” rooms, it opens directly onto the living space, with no partition: whirlpool tub, chromotherapy, rain shower. This choice will not suit everyone. It is better to know before booking if you are traveling with others and not as a couple, or if shower privacy matters more than the décor.

On the ground floor, the bar follows the same approach as the rooms: vintage furniture, retro wall sconces, a deliberately literary lounge feel without overdoing it. Breakfast can be taken on site for an extra charge, or directly in bed at no extra cost, from 7 a.m. to noon. A privilege rare enough in Paris to be worth mentioning.

As for transport, you are less than a five-minute walk from the Vavin, Raspail, Notre-Dame-des-Champs, and Gaîté stations, and the RER B at Port-Royal provides direct access to both airports. The Luxembourg Gardens are a three-minute walk away, and the Montparnasse Tower is five minutes away.

One last tip for early risers: ask for breakfast in the room rather than in the dining area. It arrives quite quickly, generous and with fresh bread and coffee included, and from some windows you can catch a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower when you wake up.

Hotel a stone’s throw from Vavin station, with direct access to the RER B from Port-Royal for both airports. We got around entirely by metro or bike with no issues. The street is fairly quiet despite being close to a major boulevard.
