The Almarine Eiffel Hotel opened its doors on January 6 on Rue de l'Exposition, in the 7th arrondissement of Paris. It is reached via a quiet street, just a few minutes' walk from the Seine and Alma-Marceau station. The Eiffel Tower is not far away, barely a ten-minute walk, as are the Hôtel des Invalides and the terraces of Rue Cler.

The property occupies the former Hôtel de l'Alma, taken over and transformed by the Malone Hotels group. Thirty rooms, spread over six floors, served by an elevator. You open the door and the décor sets the tone: warm shades of honey, ecru, and cognac, a thick carpet that absorbs the sound of footsteps. On the floor as on the walls, the materials remain natural.

Each room features its own variation around a Parisian monument. Here, a hand-painted canvas depicting the Trocadéro gardens; there, an oval medallion with a ball-style motif framing a miniature view of the Eiffel Tower. The beds are dressed in thick bedding, a minibar and a safe complete the amenities, and the television broadcasts the usual cable channels. One does, however, regret the absence of a room designed to welcome guests with reduced mobility, an issue the hotel openly acknowledges and one it is best to check before booking if it applies to your stay.

In the basement, a mosaic-lined wellness area houses a sauna, a hammam, and a whirlpool bath. Robes and slippers are provided at the entrance. The sauna stays warm all day, accessible until late in the evening, a good way to end a day of walking in the neighborhood.

In the morning, continental breakfast is served between 7:00 and 10:30 a.m. in a room overlooking the street. It is not included in the room rate, so an extra charge should be expected, but the selection remains carefully prepared: pastries, fresh fruit, a little cured meat and cheese depending on the day.

During the day, reception remains open 24 hours a day. There, you will find attentive staff, able to recommend a neighborhood restaurant or arrange an express departure at the end of your stay. A luggage storage service allows you to extend your visit after check-out.

In the evening, as you come down from the top floor, Rue de l'Exposition returns to its calm. One last piece of advice: book the sauna in the late afternoon, before 8:30 p.m.; it closes early, and that is when the whirlpool water is at its hottest.
