Pierre-Yves Rochon, the same interior designer behind the Shangri-La Paris and the renovation of the Grand Hôtel du Cap Ferrat, created this setting in 2007 in a 19th-century Haussmann building. The proportions remain intimate. There are thirty-nine rooms in all, including five suites, spread over several floors that never try to impress by sheer number.

On the ground floor, a lounge bar with a fireplace and winter garden serves as a gathering point at the end of the day. Antique furniture sits alongside silky fabrics and a few contemporary touches. It is a pleasant place to stop before heading out for dinner, given that there is no restaurant on site. That choice encourages guests to explore the neighborhood’s dining scene, and there is plenty of it, starting with several Michelin-starred addresses just a few streets away. Room service remains available, but only during limited hours.

Breakfast, meanwhile, is served buffet-style from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., for an extra charge, in a room overlooking an inner courtyard. Some rooms, higher up in the building, open onto a private terrace with views over Parisian rooftops, sometimes all the way to the Eiffel Tower.

In the basement, a completely different world awaits. An indoor pool adorned with a fresco evoking a Japanese garden, a hammam, a sauna, and a jacuzzi tucked beneath a mosaic vault. The kind of place where you go down for an hour and easily stay twice as long.

In the rooms, the bedding is carefully made up, the bathrooms feature a rain shower and separate bathtub, and the toiletries bear the HEELEY signature. Nothing here is ostentatious. Every detail seems considered.

The pricing follows this logic of discreet luxury. This is not an address for a spur-of-the-moment weekend on a tight budget. It is better saved for a special occasion, a proposal, an anniversary, or a desire to indulge without watching the clock.

One last useful note: the concierge opens early and knows the neighborhood by heart, which means getting a table at a restaurant that has been full for weeks or a taxi on a rainy Sunday.
