Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg occupies two buildings on Rue Boissy d'Anglas, just steps from Place de la Concorde. On one side, the former editorial offices of Marie Claire magazine. On the other, an 18th-century townhouse. Push open the door and you find yourself in a lobby flooded with light, illuminated by a round skylight in the ceiling. This bar alone is worth the detour. Art Deco décor, club armchairs, a fireplace, and archival images on the walls showing Pierre Cardin or Yves Saint Laurent in the middle of a collection. It attracts as many passing travelers as regulars from the neighborhood coming to sip a cocktail at the end of the day.

The spa features a hammam, a massage-jet shower and lighting effects, plus a golden mosaic wall. The fitness room remains available without limit, with no reservation required, for those who prefer to go for an early morning run in the nearby Tuileries rather than on a treadmill.

When you step outside, the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay are about a fifteen-minute walk away, and the Hermès and Cartier boutiques on Faubourg Saint-Honoré are just around the corner.

One final tip: book a table at the Bar du Faubourg before 7 p.m. on Fridays. The Art Deco room fills up quickly with the after-work crowd from the nearby business district.
