Le Relais Saint-Honoré is located at 308 rue Saint-Honoré, in the 1st arrondissement, between Place Vendôme and the Tuileries Garden. The Louvre is a few minutes away on foot, and the Opéra and Concorde are just as close. You enter through a discreet door amid the storefronts of the street, one of the busiest shopping streets in the district.

The building dates from the 17th century. The renovation preserved something of the old, wood paneling and generous proportions, while bringing the comfort up to date. The style leans toward England, with patterned fabrics, upholstered armchairs, and deep tones that change from one floor to the next even if the furniture itself is repeated.

Fifteen rooms in total, including two suites. The classic category remains compact, thirteen square meters, with either a double bed or two single beds, and a shower and bathtub combined in the same bathroom. You do not come here looking for space, but the careful bedding and the recently refurbished bathrooms quickly make you forget the square meters. Those looking for more room will choose the superior room, twenty square meters in duplex, with a mezzanine and its bench seat. The suite, on the fifth and top floor, opens onto a living room with a sofa bed.

Two possible orientations. On the rue Saint-Honoré side, you enjoy the constant bustle, shop windows lit up in the evening, continuous foot traffic, and yet the rooms remain surprisingly quiet once the window is closed. On the rue de la Sourdière side, calm sets in even faster; this is often what regulars ask for.

In the basement, a relaxation area with sauna and hammam, and a lemon water fountain at your disposal. A good stop after an afternoon of walking in the neighborhood.

Continental breakfast is served in the room; there is no common dining room for it. There is no fixed schedule either; you order when you wake up. Those who like to go downstairs and meet other travelers around a buffet may be surprised, but privacy has its charm, tray set on the bed, curtains open onto the lively street.

Room service runs throughout the day, with a fairly wide menu, and an average wait of thirty minutes. Free Wi-Fi throughout, Ethernet port in the rooms for those who prefer a cable connection, and a computer with a printer at the reception if needed.

The staff speaks several languages and is happy to arrange restaurant reservations or tickets for a visit. A laundry service operates express, with laundry dropped off before ten in the morning and collected the same evening.

When you go out, the Louvre to the right, Place Vendôme to the left, and Le Marais and Montmartre remain within a good walk but are manageable late in the afternoon when the light changes on the rooftops.

One final point before you leave: if you are leaving before seven o'clock, let the night reception know the day before for breakfast, otherwise there will be no one to prepare it in time for you.
