Cheval Blanc Paris is located at 8 Quai du Louvre, in the former Samaritaine department store, directly opposite Pont-Neuf. It took sixteen years of work and several hundred million euros to restore this Art Deco and Art Nouveau building to its original splendor, and since its opening in September 2021, LVMH has established its first Paris hotel address here. In 2026, the property joined the very exclusive list of French palaces, five years after opening its doors almost discreetly.

From the moment you enter, the contrast is striking. The hall’s volumes are vast, almost disorienting for a place with only 72 rooms and suites. You encounter contemporary artworks chosen by Peter Marino, which stand in sharp contrast to the stone and gilding of the Art Deco decor. A choice that does not win everyone over depending on taste, but one that gives the place extra soul, far from a conventional hotel lobby.

Going up to the upper floors, the rooms open onto the Seine or the rooftops of Paris, with a minimum of 70 square meters in the first category. The colors remain understated, cream and light wood, with custom-designed furnishings. The light marble bathrooms focus on comfort, with steam-effect showers and, in some cases, a private hammam. On the highest floors, if you are a light sleeper, it is better to request a room facing the courtyard: the street remains somewhat audible despite recent windows, a point the staff is happy to address by moving guests to another floor on request.

In the basement, the pool stretches 33 meters beneath mosaics by Michael Mayer, the longest hotel pool in the capital. The surrounding Dior Spa offers a hammam, sauna, and snow shower, with treatments designed to extend the sense of escape.

In the morning, head to Le Tout-Paris, the seventh-floor brasserie, for a generous breakfast: assorted breads, yogurt and homemade granola, and a rooftop view that sets the tone for the day. In the evening, the same venue transforms into a Michelin-starred brasserie, while Langosteria serves Italian cuisine from Wednesday to Sunday and Plénitude, led by Arnaud Donckele, holds three stars on the same tightly scheduled weekly rhythm. This rotation is worth anticipating: to dine on a Monday or Tuesday in one of the two fine-dining restaurants, you have to work around the closing days, which means booking the table at the same time as the room.

The Limbar, meanwhile, is open every day, from morning coffee to cocktails until 1 a.m. A welcome backup option on evenings when the Michelin-starred tables are fully booked.

Around the hotel, the Louvre is just a few minutes’ walk away, Notre-Dame comes into view across the water, and Pont Neuf metro station is right across from the entrance.

One last tip for arrival: if your flight lands early, ask to wait while the room is being prepared, and take the opportunity to have a coffee at the Limbar. The view of the Seine from the terrace makes the wait pass without feeling like it drags on.
